Procedure Reminder for College Visits

Before attending a College Visit students should do the following: *  sign up for a college visit on Naviance at least five days prior to the visit and print a copy     of the registration page. * receive permission from their teacher at least three days prior to the college visit if they will     need to miss class.  Students should have their teacher initial their registration and present it     at the time of the college visit. Please note, students who are attending a college visit during managed time do not require teacher approval.
Level Change Reminder - Students can still request a level change until  Tuesday, November 20th .   This change will be reflected on the student's transcript and current class grade will carry over to the new course.   There will be  no level changes after Thanksgiving break .  We want students and teachers to be set on their path for the year by this point.  Parents/guardians must complete the necessary paperwork before a student may change levels.  Paperwork is available in the counseling office.

NHHEAF Presentation - Financial Aid

We were lucky enough to have Cameron Owen from NHHEAF present at our Financial Aid Night on Wednesday, October 24th.  If you were unable to attend, here is a link to his  presentation .

Red Ribbon Week

Red Ribbon Week is 10/22-10/26. RRW is an alcohol, tobacco and other drug and violence prevention awareness campaign.  We are encouraging everyone to display red light bulbs outside your home/businesses during this week to show support for this campaign!

Senior Meetings

Seniors should be scheduling their senior meetings to review their future plans with their counselor! Deadlines are approaching. If you have an October 15th Early Action deadline, you should have already requested your transcript in Naviance (two-week prior notice is requested to make sure all your materials arrive by your deadline). Other popular early action/early decision deadlines to keep an eye on are: November 1st, November 15th, and December 1st. Please make note of your financial aid deadlines. Many financial aid deadlines are different than your application. You do not want to miss out on an opportunity to receive aid. This information should be clearly marked on the school's financial aid website. 

The ASVAB test is coming!

The ASVAB test is coming to BHS on November 9th ! 10th - 12th graders can participate and sign up in the Counseling Office this month. Students should stop by with more questions!

FINANCIAL AID NIGHT is Wednesday, October 24th at 6pm in the theater.

College Visits - New procedure and requirements to attend!!

As of October 5th new procedures and requirements are to be followed for students attending college visits : (exceptions may be made the week of October 8th) Students must sign up for a college visit at least five days prior to the college visit. Students should print their registration confirmation. Students must receive permission from their teacher at least three days prior to the college visit if they will need to miss class. Students should have their teacher initial their registration and present to the counseling office when checking to confirm they have permission to miss class.

Juniors: Required Testing March 21st/22nd

Attention all Juniors: The State of NH School Day SAT will be held on March 21st in the BHS GYM.  The State of NH SAS assessment will be held on March 22nd in the BHS GYM. SAT - March 21st:        Bring:  #2 Pencils, erasers, College Board approved calculator      DO NOT BRING:  backpacks, cell phones, snacks or drinks, any academic work or novels SAS - March 22nd:       Bring:  Chromebooks (charged), along with earbuds      DO NOT BRING:  backpacks, cell phones, snacks or drinks, any academic work or novels The State of NH registers all juniors for both exams (students DO NOT register on their own for this particular school day SAT exam).  It is advisable for students to create (if they have not already done so - a College Board account.  If you already created an account (took PSAT or a previous SAT), please login to make sure you remember your login information.  If you do not remember, you will need to contact College Board, as you cannot have two accounts.

AP Exam Registration - Open January 30th - March 9th

Registration for AP Exams is now open.  Please fill out the google form for each exam you plan to take.  (ex:  taking two, fill it out twice, once for each exam). Registration is open from January 30th - March 9th.  Please bring in your payments to the Counseling Office.  You only need to write one check for multiple exams. Jr College Info Night - January 24th 6:00 PM

Jr College Info Night - January 24th 6:00 PM This night is an overview for students and parents (Juniors) of the college process.

Course Selection Info Night and IB Info Night - Feb 1st

BHS will be hosting "Course Selection Info Night" as well as "IB Info Night" on February 1st in the Theater at 6:00 PM.  The course request portal will open to all on the afternoon of February 2nd through February 9th. Please use the Program of Studies found under the Academics tab on the website to review course descriptions.
